1. Services we provide
Automotive and transmission repair services, parts sales, diagnostics, phone consultations, training, and online membership subscriptions. We operate from 8204 Appalachian Hwy, Mineral Bluff, GA 30559. Phone: 706-900-9696.
2. Authorization to work
By dropping off a vehicle, signing a work order, OR approving work via text/email/phone, you authorize MDC to perform the agreed-upon work at the agreed-upon rate. We require written or text/email approval for any work beyond the initial estimate. You only pay for work you've approved.
3. Estimates
Verbal estimates are good-faith estimates and may change as work progresses. Written estimates for diagnostic-blind jobs are RANGES, not fixed prices. The final invoice reflects actual work performed and parts used. We will contact you BEFORE going over an approved range.
4. Deposits
For diagnostic-blind jobs (engine, transmission, electrical, Volkswagen, etc.), we may require a deposit of up to $2,000 before work begins. Deposits are applied to the final invoice. Unused deposit balances are refundable upon request.
5. Warranty
Warranty varies by part and is stated on each invoice. General terms:
- Workmanship: 12 months / 12,000 miles on all labor
- New parts (standard): 12 months / 12,000 miles
- Jasper rebuilds: 24 months / unlimited miles (per Jasper terms)
- Electrical parts: 90 days only
- Used parts (customer choice): NO warranty
- Customer-supplied parts: NO warranty from MDC (we generally do not install)
Warranty claims require the original invoice and reasonable use of the vehicle. Misuse, accident, or modification voids warranty.
6. Payment
Payment is due upon completion of work, before vehicle release. We accept cash, check, credit/debit cards, and approved extended warranty claims. Card payments include a 4% processing fee passed through. Vehicles not picked up within 30 days of notification may be subject to storage fees ($30/day).
7. Right to refuse service
We reserve the right to refuse service, decline jobs that exceed our capacity, or terminate a relationship with a customer for behavior we deem disrespectful to our staff. Refunds for unstarted work issued promptly.
8. Customer-supplied parts policy
We generally do not install customer-supplied parts. Exception: a $200 service-fee premium applies when we agree to install your part, and NO warranty is provided on either the part or the labor associated with installation.
9. MDC Care Membership
Membership balances are credit only โ not cash deposits. Members may cancel at any time; unused balances remain available for repair work for 12 months after cancellation, then become a refundable balance minus a $25 administrative fee. Balances are not transferable to non-MDC services.
10. Mike-AI & consultations
Phone consultations and Mike-AI responses are advisory only. We provide our best-faith expertise but cannot guarantee outcomes when we cannot personally inspect the vehicle. Customers acting on Mike-AI or consultation advice do so at their own risk.
11. Liability limit
Our liability for any service is limited to the cost of that service. We are not liable for incidental, consequential, or punitive damages. We maintain general liability insurance on our premises and during work.
12. Dispute resolution
Disputes are first addressed through direct conversation with Mike or Deb. Unresolved disputes proceed to small claims court in Fannin County, Georgia. We have a 30-year track record of resolving disputes amicably through documented communication; we have won every court case (4) we've been part of because of our documentation standards.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. Material changes will be communicated to active customers via email or text with 30 days' notice.
